My crucible is here I got a gallon of casting sand some old copper wire and tin.

Huh, sounds neat. Any idea why it didn't work out? I would guess you can kind of trial and error it with temperature and maybe cooling methods? I don't know much about the process, but I assume it's basically like melting down and casting most other metals?
