Taking blind people to spectator events is a waste of tickets.

Do you have blind family members or blind friends? Or, perhaps, you're one of those people that have just seen blind people around. Is it not a waste of a ticket for blind people to go to a spectator event? For example, sports, or even movies. What is the point?

Now, concerts, I get that. That's more of an audible experience than a visual experience. I think that there should be concerts for the blind. It's just a speaker or two. Maybe a speaker system. No need for the band to perform live. And no, I'm not here to offend blind people. Besides, they won't read this anyway, so, don't worry about it.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Should blind people be disallowed to waste ticket purchase(s) on spectator events?

I have blind friend and I know that at sport events he has some kind of tablet that tells him what's happening in the game, movies have dialogue and sound so it's not a problem. Concerts isn't just visual of performance, it's the atmosphere, people, artists improvising a little and going off format, it's the feel.

Back on topic, I think that you are missing the point here. If someone that cannot see what is going on at an event in which that entertainment is based on being able to see what is going on, why should a seeing person be left out in place of a not-seeing person? It's really that simple.

Handicapped people shouldn't be disallowed from anything unless it directly puts their life in danger. Blind people can still experience events in other ways. There is an atmosphere in a spectator crowd event that you just can't get at home.

When I watched the movie "A knight's Tale" I welled up when I saw William's blind father there in the crowd as he won the joust. I'm sure some kid feels the same feeling as the character did seeing his blind father in the bleachers in support of his little league game. You want that taken away though fro some reason.

But anyway have to agree, they also people, and they also want to experience things, even if its not fully to the capabilities of people who can fully see.
