He is extremely smug and easy to hate. Around 6 months ago he ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a big world of warcraft raid, and the guy seems to be constitutionally incapable of admitting fault, on anything, ever. That was the tipping point of his career: his implacable pride.

There's a lot of guys in IT and software development who are almost carbon copies of this guy.

A life of very little socializing and a lot of basement dwelling does a number on their brains.

He’s anti-Stop Killing Games + he’s a bad developer + nepo baby + he’s bad at wow

He's a narcissist who owns an indie game dev company and lied about a bunch of things to make himself look good. He embellished his experience working at blizzard, lied about solving puzzle game puzzles by himself (lol), he made a bad play in some hardcore mmo team and didn't take responsibility for it, and then misrepresented a European Citizens Initiative to prevent game publishers from killing games via always online DRM

The internet was, and arguably still is, out to get its pound of flesh when most of the controversy started because it came out that he was horribly dishonest, and because he managed to trick a lot of people into generally liking him via said dishonesty. Other than that, he's not a particularly interesting character
