Steam Submits To Woke Feminists & Banks: Agrees To Censorship Demands

Woke feminist activists lobbying payment processors like Paypal, VISA and Mastercard have been running a pressure campaign (apparently calling itself "Collective Shout") saying Steam needs to cave in to their demands by censoring content on Steam they decide is offensive. The group brags that they have already succeeded in having Andrew Tate's courses removed from Spotify, as well as other content they claim was "objectifying women."

Under pressure from the payment processors that serve these feminist activists, Steam appears to have caved to their demands and allowed your payment processors and credit card companies to decide what kinds of content you're allowed to buy on Steam with your money.

Among other things, content in Steam games that is now banned includes:

Hate speech, i.e. speech that promotes hatred, violence or discrimination against groups of people based on ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability or sexual orientation

Nude or sexually explicit images of real people

Content that is patently offensive or intended to shock or disgust viewers

Content that may violate the rules and standards set forth by Steam's payment processors and related credit card networks and banks, or internet network providers.

Those of you upset about the "nanny state" telling you what you're allowed to do... how do you feel about banks, feminist activists, and corporations telling you what you're allowed to do?

Valve software lists contact information for people in their company such as Gabe Newell, presumably to enable us Steam users to tell them what we think. If you're upset about this new direction for the company, you should consider letting them know using their contact forms on their website:

by the way I heard this group also ran campaigns targeting controversial anime cartoons or something

i'm not really into anime but you should know if you're an anime fan they will probably try to cancel what you like at some point if you don't speak up

Woke is nothing more than a diversion from RW disasterous handling of the economy and foreign affairs. That's the whole purpose of culture wars. It's a RW tactic in general to create a problem then claim to be the only one who can fix it. Woke is an old liberal term to mean "bringing attention to a social injustice". Conservatives twisted the meaning into something nasty and use it as a diversion. Social media is saturated with "woke" issues so you can't escape from it. There are real issues that do not get any attention, like healthcare, education, infrastructure and a ton of other things. Notice how conservatives lost interest in paying down the debt?

Payment processors are the final boss, they've been skimming off the system forever now, and no longer provide a service justifying their monopolies, and they have abused their power over politics never mind the games.

Yea no, they've been funding and protecting the leftist agenda. The billionaires are often afflicted themselves like the Pritzkers.

These are the people trying to make sure people can't even pay for their lawyers if on the right, which reveals their true beliefs about "due process", a talking point they've adopted completely insincerely.

yeah valve does not need to submit here. but it's probably easier to accept this if it doesn't get worse. also there is too much porn stuff already and it's everywhere
