Steam Censorship situation is insane
Payment processors can dictate what type of games you can buy on Steam now.

Shy of a class action suit against the credit card companies, I am not sure what can be done. 90+ percent of the money Valve makes is through one of these services, honestly I think even Microsoft would fold to the pressure if put in the same position.
yes we know what i read paypal force steam to do that
everything's insane these days. will life ever be sane again? find out next time on chicken man's bizarre adventure! To Be Continued ==>
Just use the card to put money on your account, then purchase the game with the money on your account. How would your card company know then?
No payment processor, no money.

It's kinda weird they're allowed to make demands from retailers like that.
Am I missing something? Steam censorship is one thing, payment processors are something else entirely.

They have absolutely nothing to do with each other lol...
Even though the situation is terrible I still have faith.

TGC is right in both accounts just like GoldenEldiablo.

They shouldn't be able to demand even less have a say in what we buy when they *profit* from it no matter what it is.
The censorship is mostly because of the age-verification drama in multiple states I think and the processors pressure Steam to join said drama.

But if they start forcing big devs(CDPR+like) to take down their games or remove sexual content there will be *war* I tell you between said devs who lose gooner customers and the processors.

Apparently Visa & Master Card are demanding certain games to be removed from the Steam Store.

Visa/Mastercard aren't Steam. So, if OP is saying it's Steam censorship, that's just misinformation, and very misleading. It's illogical.

Payment processors just move money, they can't force game removals. Plenty of other payment options out there anyway like PSC and PayPal.

Child porn?
Irrelevant of what it is. Payment processors should comply with existing laws and policies of countries they operate in, not create their own. They are not elected officials but corporate entities and you don't see a problem with them dictating what's appropriate and what is not?
If that kind of BS trigger the start of bitcoin becoming a true money, used to buy games as we can't trust other actors, I'll laugh so much ... They really shouldn't play with that kind of things, it can backfire very badly for them, as we have the tools today to replace them if we really want to.

It'll be interesting to watch how far it goes. :)

Indeed, I couldn't have said it even better than you did here. They should indeed mind their own business instead of trying to play the little dictators.
selective marketing has only just begun, remember the jews werent able to buy stuff ww2 germany

its just a baby step though no reason to flip a lid
there still exists ways to get around this for now
we also have to consider the optimism, if a global war broke out tomorrow, we would rather steam still be up and running and not be able to buy international games than no internet or electricity
