I guess the government dictating what journalists can and can't publish is fine when it protects the rapist in chief from accountability.

Did you perhaps mean to type redact?
Anyway, he didn't even make that request. As long as the wrongdoers and their specific doings aren't redacted then we move on from there.
I won't assume anything, but he's flagging it for himself and Pam Bondi. He fired the original female investigating it for zero reason and it's now Pam Bondi who will release the Epstein Files to what she feels is "valid". So yeah it's going to be very selective and bias.
Pam Bondi has already botched the mishandling of the Epstein files and doctored so-called "raw footage", on purpose or just because unqualified and picked only as a Trump loyalist and completely useless at her position, is another question...
Pam Bondi quote: "There are tens of thousands of videos of Epstein with children or child porn, and there are hundreds of victims!"
Trump quote: "It's a hoax by the Democrats who demand it's release!" and Trump demanded the Republicans party to vote NO to releasing to the public!
I'm assuming so, but won't jump to conclusions that fast without confirming.
Durbin quote: "My office was told that these personnel were instructed to 'flag' any records in which President Trump was mentioned. ... Why were personnel told to flag records in which President Trump was mentioned. What happened to the records mentioning President Trump once they were flagged?"
Durbin quote: "Why did you publicly claim on February 21 that the client list was 'sitting on my desk right now to review?' (Pam Bondi) If it was not a client list, what was 'sitting on your desk' at that moment?"
