How does the internet survive the enragement epidemic? There's not enough people that can see that they're being baited

Look at this thread. He even left in the 'Hope this fits what you're looking for' from ChatGPT or whatever AI service was used. Zero effort goes into disguising it, nevermind that every forum is flooded with rage baiters to begin with

But the thread fills up with people biting the bait. In a few days, the thread will have a dozen awards. If this user keeps it up, he might even gain a weirdo that follows him around every day for no reason.

The ones that understand what's happening know: you don't interact, you ignore. But with SO. MANY. PEOPLE. falling for the bait, left and right, on every platform, how does the internet survive this?

Is it up to platforms to figure out a better system for engagement so that enragement doesn't score top marks? Do we use AI to counter AI-generated rage bait? Please let me know your thoughts on what can be done with this, because Steam Discussions isn't the only platform drowning in rage bait trolls.

They barely put in any effort and people are tripping over themselves to argue with and waste time on these people. Some will waste months coming back to argue over and over for absolutely zero reason.
