1 billion is not enough to feed many people is it?
maybe we could just eat the yachts? there is that show where folk are having strange addictions, sometimes they eat things like screws or sand. let the people eat yachts
That's not your decision to make.

Are we on a speedrun to another self-fulfilled prophecy, OP?

Well sure that's a good point. Aren't billionaires donating a lot of their money already, but the world is still starving (apparently)? Maybe it's corruption that's the culprit.

Yes the part you dont understand is that the corruption is the fake charities they donate to in order to get tax breaks
When you have your own yacht, you can sell it and feed anybody you like.

Not really, no. Mostly because of the cost of logistics.

There are about 733 million starving people in the world, 1 billion would give you $1.36 to spend on each one, once.

Oh yes that too. But I'm sure they funnel some money into goodwill organizations, but they have internal corruption there as well. There's simply no way for good to win in this world.

You don't consider what it takes to get to the top. It's not pretty work and I can confirm from my own life that any sense of empathy is gone when you've dealt with so many problems and enemies.

So while it doesn't help hoarding yachts, there's the third problem - lack of empathy at the top.
