Do people even use SLI anymore?
Saw quite a few people using SLI when it first got introduced, but then with the inefficient performance, I guess that number dropped a lot. Anyone still uses it?

You can ask in https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/discussions/forum/11/ but I certainly don't. Even when GPUs weren't the size of a brick, cramming two of them in a case, and powering and cooling them was more trouble than it was worth.

It was a fad that was never worth doing. You're well past the point of diminishing returns when you go for 2 cards.

It's true.

This was one of those things that looked good on the surface and the reality was lousy.
I quit after my first sli rig that had a pair of 7900 gs cards in it. When it worked it was nice, but drivers for games were really an issue and I had to tinker with so many just to get the SLI setup to cooperate. I ended up dedicating one to physx while the other did rendering on certain games and that seemed to work better sometimes but still it wasn't worth the trouble overall

I think I have only known of one person to ever use SLI. I have never known anyone else who has done it.

I never used it. I really wanted to until I found out it doesn't stack/combine VRAM.

Silly gimmick that died pretty fast I guess.

I've never known anyone to use, both in the past and now.

Ive done it with 2x 6800 cards. Marginal performance increase with just higher thermals.

I think the bandwidth limit was just restrictive, and now they figured it out with one
