Multiply Any Number By 15 In Your Head Easily
Just take half, add it to the original, and move the decimal place of the sum one place to the right.

So, 124 x 15 =
124 / 2 = 62
124 + 62 = 186
move decimal to right =

Yes, for the most part dividing by 2 would be easier than multiplying by 5.
So it would make sense to prefer doing 10x/2 over 5x.
