I like Silent Hill games because the monsters aren't very scary, which makes it perfect for people who want to play horror games but are afraid of ghosts.

phasmophobia used to be a good game for people that wanna play a horror game thats only scary if you let it be scary.

If you played it careful the ghost pretty much never did a hunt.

Then they decided to change all that.

the things that bother people only bother them so much because they are fictionalized. if presented with real issues most just respond with hopelessness instead of horror.

that indifference and tendency to shrug reality off is itself pretty frightening. its easy to imagine oneself a victim of people like that.

reusing the psycho skin from dayz the mod had the same effect. i couldnt take jasons seriously, and it made things like oni or hooking seem trolololol.

most killers just wanted to be seen t-posing in overalls in the woods, and over or underplayed the game to achieve this.

I want horror games with random events. For example there was this horror game that a guy with a knife will randomly spawn into the room with you with no warning and kills you instantly.

Imagine reading some notes in a horror game and you hear footsteps coming towards you.

That is phasmphobia, your just waiting on the ghosts random event generator to roll what you need to get all the evidence

I like when games that aren't traditionally creepy or unsettling have parts that are. I think of stuff like the Conquest Ending from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 / Re;birth 2 or the Miru boss fight in Rabi-Ribi.

in fatal frame you can customize your camera and photo ammo, so later it is like if you carry bazooka or magnum gun

also tecmo are good to port fatal frame on steam, you can play that like fps with the camera, in silent hill it is a little tricky to shoot monster and you are more limited with ammo and firepower, i never feel this problem in fatal frame
