Wild dude
You would be surprised about how much the casual mainstream on consoles are turning against them. I have friends that are very casual and would play games like these and one of them ie. bought SW:O, but they never talked about it afterwards, because it was awfull.. it was just.. "maybe the next game is better"
But after AC:S they have lost faith and they have also started to hate all the massive MTX.. then factor in all the weird culture war drama (that most European don´t want to engage in)
I asked the friend if they want to buy the next game.. they said.. No.. they instead focus on other games (there are so many alternatives)
They still are way to scared to try BG3.. I have tried to steer them towards that for a long time and the reply is... "I heard and see its a masterpiece, but it is too complicated for me" .... BG3 is very streamlined.. but it still scares the most casual players.
But.. as I said.. these casual players are turning away from Ubisoft.. you see this in their ficsal year reports as well (just look at the stock prices for them the last 6 years)
This new push about even more MTX and not owning anything and so forth.. it will end in consumer flight.
Ubisoft wants full control without consumers being able to make critique.. they want to sell the story to the shareholders, that they are the bright beacon of hope for gaming... but in reality, they are the trickster.
and online no updates you just played , all games need to be 5 thousand dollars ea , that way its fully payed for and not needing to buy anything else no dlc no levels no safety shoes or ping pong gun , and systems where made better long ago nes and sega was the best , ps1 & 2 good
Well they are currently trying to ditch the debt and old investors (that is why they created a subsidiary with Tencent and moved all money making IP´s there)
Their goal is to make that into a seperate company of its own after the grace period.. this would leave a worthless Ubisoft stuck with debt and the other investors to clean up.
But some of the investors like AJ have said they wanna file a lawsuit unless they are compensated with a few billions... so it will be some interesting times.
I think the family will do all it can to keep control.. its more about their control, than it is about making good games, having good connection to consumers or even good business practices.
