Is there another species with such a wide intelligence gap?
I was thinking about it, and we have some incredibly intelligent people, but we also have some really unintelligent people, like the gap is astronomical.

Do any other species have such a large gap in intelligence? Like are there some monkeys out there, like "get a look at Chimpy? What a moron."

no, not really. while there are definitely standouts in certain animals, those animals who are leaps and bounds more intelligent than their peers are like to be trained by humans, so they had some help. there are some chimps, parrots and whales that are a hundred times smarter than the average of their species, but they were all heavily influenced by human interactions and teachings.

humans on the other hand can be covered in their own drool (me), or albert einstein.

Makes sense. I had a nice imagery of a monkey using a banana as a chair while the other one can open it with his mind

So what's a stupid cuttlefish compared to a genius cuttlefish?

The amount of futurama posts you make is why you're one of my favorites here. Did you know I have a tattoo of Fry on the Scooty Puff Jr? lol
It would be a good start to showcase your definition of what intelligence is?
Is is western based scale tests? (Stanford-Binet, Wechsler, etc.) is it adaptability? what about Gardners MI take? is it critical thinking? is it a combination? is it....

I would go as far to say, that humans are extremely alike and when it comes to general behaviour, we have very similar patterns.. (then again, I think we are just meat robots, so...)

stupid cuttfish is strong and bang his girfriend, smart cuttfish is weak, so he disguise in sexy waifu to cheat stupid cuttfish, so he can bang the girfriend

awesome hahaha. i have a few tattoos myself, but very small and simple ones. i do love futurama, especially the pre movie seasons.
House cats have been known to be intelligent enough to potty-train themselves and operate doorhandles, but certain specimens may have their entire cognitive functions temporarily blue-screened by a slice of cheese gently applied on their foreheads.
there is some gap in intelligence and information, true.
Dolphins are crazy. They get high from pufferfish. No seriously… they do.
We don't see much of the dumbest ones in nature, as typically the dumbest ones get eaten, beaten or just kill themselves with their own stupidity/curiosity. Nature is metal.

We only see the ones that were not so stupid they were useless/liability. Or the ones that were not excessive risk takers, some risk taking good, too much, bad.

The most intelligent of them, there is no real benefit above a certain level of intelligence so you don't see super genius animals knowingly.

They don't really out compete above average or average, in a meaningful way.

Is semi ironic so many people are obsessed with intelligence, being a max value of 200 or 300 w/e system you use, is actually borderline worthless, nobody really needs 120+ IQ. It's basically wasted potential in the current environment.

But to answer your question, all mammals have this wide range, its also present in birds since they can be pretty smart and dumb, we not done nearly enough observation of strange things like cephalopods to be sure either way.
depents how you measure intelligence.

very simplefied there is raw awareness and than there sekf awarenes..
nothing but humans has a soul, quite simply.
we are made in Gods image, have that spark that 2d layer.. annimals do not.

you cant really tag the same iq score humans have on annimals.

but if we compare that raw 1st layer..
animals in general do have a larger spread percentually than humans.
-
humans went trough the flood 13000ish years ago and this genetic bottleneck still shows humans have far less genetic diversity than other spieces..

with only 6000 ish humans left 11500ish years ago.. basicly our spread was massivle tightend

human iq range :
globally 99.99% would fall between
60 and 140 (+/- 40%)

if you exclude africans (who tend to have an outlyer low average iq of 74 vs 96 average for latins/indians for europeans 98 for asians 104..)

than the 99.99 spread is more +/- 25%

=====
now the smartest annimals chimps have am iq range of about 8 to 30
wihing 1 group... and 5 to 35 as a spieces..

the numbers are lower for urang utangs, dolfins celapods and crows who follow..

but this large spread with a far less concentrated bellcurve than humans is common.

aka the dumbest human may have half the iq of the smartest one.

while the dumbest annimal in a spieces has between an sixth to a twentiest the iq of the smartest in his spiecss. with their iq spread bellcurve a lot more flattend too.

ofcource in absolute numbers this gap is smaller.. like 5-35 is only 30 points apread.. but relatively it is much wider.

Some dog breeds are brilliant while others are dumb as ♥♥♥♥. Not sure how to measure that relative to human IQ, however.
