Can't zoo's do something about that? like try to force them to eat meat again so they can go back to being healthier?
Then maybe introduce them back to the wild?
it is theoretically possible, yes. but the amount of money and work it would take make it very unlikely that any grand effort would be made in such a way. coupled with the fact that pandas have long pregnancies and typically only produce one single young, it is just a losing battle unfortunately. they are hard wired to eat bamboo now against their genetics, and while it might be possible to make them eat meat once more it is difficult because many would likely starve in the process. which would hurt their already critically endangered numbers.
