AND icth.io just got hit hard with censorship - ha, what are the odds?
The credit card companies now know their reach, Steam added blood to the water for more sharks to circle, and the site of itch.io now has to cut out their NSFW games.
ALL of them.
(They're de-listed for now, but that's just effectively a ban, and one step away from a total ban)

It's as I expected - it's never enough, and there's always another target for the payment processors to hit.

What good is a right if a single company or oligopoly anywhere in the world can stop you from exercising it? Similar logic applies to your money - if the payment processor controls it, it isn't yours.

Don't be surprised if they come back with another kill list for Steam. Heck, I bet they don't stop at adult games either. You'll at least get Sony-style censorship.

That's 7 times in 2 days amazing.
Since the crybabies are quoting this, I'll edit to say I dont care much about this. Only about .05% care levels at the moment.

Nobody cares in it either.

I know YOU don't care. And I don't care that you don't care, (at least until one of your games get hit and you cry about it then).

I care about it, so I'm talking about it.
It's crazy when you live in a time where news corporation owners and credit card companies have taken a stand to fight against degeneracy, as no one else cares to.

That's where they START, with weird niches that few are willing to defend.
Before moving on to bigger stuff.

You're an idiot.
Start your own credit card and set your own terms

You got a few billion dollars and good terms with the banks to help me with that?

Just checked and seems to only be affecting certain adult games, not all.

does anyone see issues with censoring games but not censoring game hacks that are paid services!?!?!?!?!

Many are still technically online, but effectively delisted to the point that they can't be viewed by almost anyone, with many creators reporting huge drops in new viewership.

Rome wasn't built in a day. And the internet didn't go from unregulated to corporate over night. It was a long process.

Atm this is building the system to filter and screen everything. Later more can be added to the filter, and more.

They released a statement that all games marked as NSFW have been hidden with some removed.

It needed to happen anyways if you think about it because of how much of a dark market it is in terms of content and the questionable nature of it. Like not even mainstream companies are making this sort of content for a living because it wouldn’t hit store shelves as it is.

Is this all these incest games? I welcome the removal.
