There will probably be unforseen consequences for this, but in and of itself I don't really care. Slop like that used to be freeware, niche, or flash games.

this can include games that arent tagged as "nsfw" like hentai games but just normal games with partial nudity might not be allowed aswell

itch just removed all its adult content. same reasoning as steam tho. but worse extent. freedom of speech and art doesnt exist anymore. seems they are pushing to remove more

Both Itch and Steam caved to the credit card companies.

I think what we need is a game storefront that accepts crypto. Coingate is an example that can process transactions at websites using crypto.

Itch has a forum and there are people running interference for Itch but the fact is they run their website, not Visa or Mastercard, and they chose to delist the game in question and also shadowban all their NSFW games so they don't show up on searches anymore.

This is a dagger stabbed into the back of their community. Itch was created for indie devs, and they just stomped on one because it was convenient for them.

And they should know that this won't be the end of it. Now that they know it works, they will target more games through the payment processors. Will they step on more indie devs?

I've lost all respect for itch.io and probably won't do business there anymore.

Hopefully we get a indie game storefront that accepts crypto, and is operated in a country that doesn't engage in heavy-handed censorship like Australia.

The internet should not be run in accordance to any one nation's laws. If Australia doesn't like ♥♥♥♥, then they can firewall their own country like China did. The rest of us shouldn't be forced to live in accordance to their puritanical beliefs.

I also want to see the nsfw artwork and screenshots go as well because it is very displeasing at times to browse through games only to find mods or 18+ material appear on my page and even now the library’s page.
