Show ID to go on the internet? (Good or bad?)
This just came up in another thread, someone mentioned that in the future they'll have "digital IDs" that you need to access the internet, thereby eliminating any attempt at anonymity.

Thoughts?

Bad.
We only have ourselves to blame.

That's a very likely scenario considering some of the european countries already do that partially.

Bad, and so much. Why the peoples need know about my existence to use the google?
It will happen.
People have been misbehaving and governments and parents love accountability.

normal users like me, cant find who others really are,
a lot of people already know the ID of everyone in this forum even if they dont speak.

should users like me get to see their ID too? what's the point? when everyone already know that I am probably not a fan of their political ideology.

Technically you need an ID to get a contract from ISP. So to whom you would show this ID to? And what would the purpose be?

Nowadays almost all traffic is encrypted from PCs to the servers, so people stay relatively anonymous even if they disclose information about themselves to service providers.

Oii, you got a loisence to visit that subreddit, m8?!?
I love when Americans talk about how great it is in Europe and then you see all these stories about people getting arrested for praying on the sidewalk or saying something mean about a feminist on Twitter.
