For me it is impossible, everything i think of as a story is trash. How about you? Written any novels lately?

If i wrote one it would probably be a deep psychological horror
I'm going to write a smut novel involving all OT'ers uwu
Like everybody I've had ideas.

But if I were to actually put effort into it, I'd want to go out of my way to not use Freytag's Pyramid.

I just haven't figured out how, yet.

I wish I were Chris Avellone
Humanity has already come a long way; much has been developed, said, and written. There are things that can only be improved with great difficulty and even then, not because they are universal wisdom. Why reinvent the wheel?

If I did it would just be added to the pile of banned books.

Just write it, have fun, release it, don't think about the consequences.

There is a HUGE market for trash. Check out OT for examples of said trash, trashing, other trash, with yet more trash. Trashception, heck you could make it novelty, exploding trash, since everyone has a trash problem that just won't go away. :angry_seagull:

Before you know it, you'll have a fan/hate club and they will guide you to untold riches and misery. Like all good trash prosperity prospectors. Thar is gold in dat trash, just got to find the right addict group, I mean, consummate customer base, with endless pockets of gold.

Trash the other kind of classy. :bag:

one of the few obsidian games without avellones involvement that is really fantastic.

the thing about pentiment is that Josh Sawyer has studied medieval European history at university, so it was something he was already familiar with, plus he is a fan of the name of the rose, it was all familiar ground and thus very little possibility of being repeated when the subject is not related to that specific theme.

Avellone otoh just spins to gold any material he is given regardless of whether he is familiar with it or not.

true, avellone is legitimately just a very talented and imaginative writer. many of his games are among my favourites of all time.

fallout 2 and new vegas, planescape torment, kotor 2, great stuff.

If you bake good bread, people will buy it. If you talk nonsense, you're out.

I did in fact write one around five years ago. It was a mystery thriller in the Himalayas.
