Since HL2 was a great engine and a great presentation yet an ABSOLUTE BORE what will HL3 offer to IMPRESS us?

only if rare is picked up by another company, i hate how micro$oft owns it and just allows it and all its ips like banjo, conker and perfect dark just to languish.

I would love to see a proper Killer Instinct reboot. The one for the Xbox was pathetic and weird. They tried, but, it just didn't resonate.

All Sony needs to do is make another Killzone game, and it will get everyone's attention once again.

Consoles really blew it with 4th generation mediocrity. The industry was writing off PC gaming at the time and wasn't expected to survive. That should be a lesson against incremental upgrades. Phones are not producing any significant upgrades either for sometime, excluding the camera.

the newest killer instinct was great, its just that micro$oft does not care about rare and its IPs. my theory is they bought it purely so nintendo could not have it, because they have done almost nothing with the rare ips since the acquisition. nintendo has its own issues, but at least they probably would have made a new banjo or perfect dark now and again.

after k rool appeared in the most recent donkey kong and smash bros (he is owned by rare), maybe micro$oft will at least be willing to let other devs use rares ips more.

I'm pretty sure we're at a point where even if Valve released Half-Life 3, people would be disappointed by it. We've been made to wait over 20 years at this point, and as such people's expectations for HL3 have skyrocketed to the point of absurdity, and that's entirely Valve's fault. Had they just buckled down and made the damn game within a reasonable time frame, most people would've been happy with it, even if it played functionally identically to HL2 and the Episodes. It's just another case of Valve refusing to do anything with their IPs due to sheer laziness. We're never getting Team Fortress 3 (or the Heavy Update), we're never getting Left 4 Dead 3, and we are absolutely never going to get Half-Life 3.

I just want Half-Life 3.

Most Half-Life fans/gamers feel this way, too. We just want Half-Life 3. It's been so long and so highly-anticipated, that at this point, I just want to see what it's like. I don't even expect it to be the most amazing game ever. If it's even close to Half-Life 2 as far as gameplay experience enjoyment goes, I will be happy.
