Arrested For Weed?
The rapper Glorilla was arrested for weed possession, after having called the police because her house was robbed. The robbers escaped unharmed and are yet to be found.

Never heard of “Glorilla”. Anything to get the name out there I suppose.

An arrest was made for a crime, but not the crime they were called for.

Pretty simple case, weed not allowed in that state, with weed in plain view during an investigation, cops had a duty to enforce the laws. Could the cops not done the arrest, sure, but there could of been pushback for that as well.

It may be weird that it's still illegal in her state, but it's not weird that the police did their job. Don't call the police over while you have illegal stuff sitting around for them to see.

Nope.
Major Crimes and CSU arrived because of the call, they "detected a strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics" and while they investigated the original call, they called in the Regional Drug Task Force to deal with whatever narcotics were on scene.
The Task force secured a search warrant and "a significant amount of marijuana was discovered in plain view inside the master bedroom closet".

Just because you're the victim of a crime doesn't mean you can't be charged for any other illegal action you've committed yourself.
