Cherries on pizza?
Yes or no?

Cuz apparently, it's a thing now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlHku9_XMmQ

In the 2000's, the world united against anchovies.

In the 2010's, the world united against pineapple.

I fear in the 2020's, the world will unite against cherries.

I don't eat pizza. But pretty much anything goes with bread and cheese. Anything saying otherwise is just memers. Or literal aliens.
Yes, you can make a sweet pizza with cherries and soft cheese - it will be more like a pie. Or, if you want to experiment further, try pairing blue cheese with cherries.
I'm a fan of Pineapple on Pizza.
I don't see the issue.

Unless it's the REALLY sweet Cherries then I can understand why.

no
1 anchovies never were my thing.. *white mans kryptonite* but well they are traditional and I can't diss on them.. I just feel a bit ashamed each time I say no anshovis please

2 I LOVE pineapple... and the pizza hawai is a decendant of the tosti haiwai from 1800s back when pinaple was the most luxery thing in the world even the queen of england had at best 3 a year basicly it is like eating a whiterhinesteak, or a third of the annual production of belugacaviar.. pinapple was really THE luxery food queens showed of (but to pricy to reat) king gasped at at anybody else dreamt off. this pizza haway was the decadent dish of that era. proper billionairfood.
two slices of brioche, a slice of fine ham, a slice of fine cheece.. a slice of pinapple.. grilled ... (tosti after all).. than served slice in halve with a confit cherry on top (which alone was worth a fortune likely more than an labourer made in a couple monhts)
-> when the pizza reached canada.. this was JUST as canned pinapple entered the market and drove the price into affordable.. for middleclass.. but earsly enough it still had this luxery repuration.. + a large amount of german migrants. who remembered this legendairy tosti hawai..
and so the pizza hawai was born.. originally with confited cherries... but soon shops left those off as they were the lionshare of the cost of making one.. and found out customers ordered them just as much without them.

3 as stated the original pizza hawai had cherries and pinapple.. just confited ones not fresh ones.
so I see not much an issue there..

Only aliens and bio-androids don't like anchovies and pineapple on pizza.
Peruvian Cherry Peppers, yeah.

Cherries? Maybe... but probably not.

if you grind down anshovis in a paste.. that you than add to a tomato sauce instead of salt.. thats fine..

but believe me some ital;ians toss like a whole can of them straight on a pizza.. and if you ever bit in one of those buggers... well I am dutch.. I am used to salted herring.. but these.... well lets say they taste how surstrommen smells ..

-Magic 8 Ball- Overview
Yes, cherries can absolutely be a delicious and surprising topping for pizza! They offer a unique sweet and tart flavor that pairs well with both savory and sweet ingredients.
Here are a few ways to incorporate cherries into your pizza:
Sweet and Savory Combinations:
Cherries and Goat Cheese with Arugula: The tangy goat cheese and peppery arugula complement the sweetness of the cherries, with a drizzle of balsamic glaze adding a finishing touch.
Cherry, Hazelnut, and Prosciutto with Ricotta and Basil: This combination combines the sweetness of cherries with the saltiness of prosciutto and the richness of ricotta, balanced by the herbaceous notes of basil.
Cherries and Caramelized Onion with Brie and Gorgonzola Cheese: This gourmet pizza balances the sweetness of cherries and caramelized onions with the robust flavors of brie and gorgonzola, according to The Floating Kitchen.
White Pizza with Dried Cherries: This recipe features layers of melted cheeses, dried cherries, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze on a white pizza base.
Sweet Cherry and Peach Fruit Pizza: This dessert pizza features a ricotta base, topped with drained cherries, grilled peaches, candied orange slices, raspberry crumbles, and pistachios, according to Simplot Foods.
Tips for using cherries on pizza:
Pitting and Halving: Be sure to pit and halve the cherries before adding them to your pizza.
Fresh or Frozen: You can use either fresh or frozen cherries, depending on availability.
Balance of Flavors: Cherries add sweetness, so it's best to pair them with savory or tangy ingredients like cheeses (mozzarella, feta, goat cheese), onions, or prosciutto to create a balanced flavor profile.
Balsamic Glaze: A drizzle of balsamic glaze after baking can enhance the flavors and add a beautiful sheen to the pizza.
If you're feeling adventurous and want to try a new pizza experience, consider adding cherries to your next creation!

id say yes!

Why not? First came pineapple.
Jalapeño cherry poppers, specifically the Cherry Chipotle Jalapeño poppers. :TrashPizza::csd2smile:

Robots can't do it. Their softwareand sensors has a bug that causes them to not be able to handle sweetness + pizza. It has yet to be patched.
Why am I seeing more support for cherries than there ever was for pineapple?
