Unlikely, the game forums still worked fine, it was just the main ones not working. As for the weird link spamming, it is just a bunch of people mad at the removal of games, most probably never used steam, just seeing an outcry, and decided to get steam and it's users into hot water.

someone told me they would be back on the forums to spam and cause havoc and then the next week all of that happened, quite a coincidence uwu

Eh, since the other forums were working as intended. My guess the AI moderation has a short of spam protection type of measure, so if there's too much traffic than usual it shuts down the forum for a bit, and sends a notification to the human review team.

That or someone made a thread about the Palantir CEO and certain asian country social credit score.
