I don't think it will be a revolution, revolutions happen at the beginning of a cycle, when foreign powers tries to manipulate your society into killing its actual leaders, so they can replace them with their own puppets. French revolution was the same btw, planned and funded by britishs.

We're at the end of a cycle instead, it's not time for a revolution, it's time for a collapse, like the fall of the USSR. We're most likely to see the fall of the EU and of the American Empire, rather than a revolution.

Yes, escapism, they would be too busy playing video games to care. People need entertainment, it's THAT SIMPLE. Why we now have SO MUCH of it, to keep the masses distracted and happy.
