Early Access = You're paying a studio to test their game for them.
And said studio thanks you very kindly for your money!:steamhappy:

this is called capitalism and commerce.

Are you advocating for socialism?
Pirate Software, meanwhile, wants you to pay 10 bucks for his unfinished game and doesn't intend to actually finish it. Even after it was funded on Kickstarter.

Why would I want to do something like that, comrade?
Well, you pay for early access. Sure, you're effectively a game tester, which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes EA titles flop. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they're shaped by input or suggestions from you and the community.

If you think it's a waste of money, or you're too poor, then don't buy into them.
yeah but atlyss is fun
Early access is a tricky term No More Room in Hell 2 is a prime example of a terrible money-grabbing early access.
It wasn't even close to a beta at launch lol, imo. They're paying the price for that now. Project Zomboid on the other hand does it differently though. They're using early access to keep improving the game because a game like this is always a work in progress. It will take a long time but it's for the better.

You mean like AAA games that come out bug filled and with a lot of issues? people are already paying to test out games and it isn't because of Early Access.

Now, when it does come to Early Access, be more smart and wise and you'll avoid getting screwed over constantly.
Worse than that, American consumer protection laws do not apply to "incomplete products".

Developers can Early Access on any promises they want and if they don't deliver, the consumer has absolutely no recourse.
Tricking you to pay extra to play the same game 3 days early then everyone els is just another trick to farm more money from you. You think the cosmetics you get included are worth it but 95% of the time you will forget those cosmetics a week after and the company still earned themself extra money.
