America the Beautiful

A peaceful paradise on earth full of friendly, wise, and good-hearted people whose prosperity is their (God-given) reward for their impeccable virtue. Sometimes based on American media during The '50s and The Silver Age of Comic Books, which portrayed the United States of America as a homey, traditional world of heroes built upon (nuclear) family values, love, and old-fashioned simple mindsets. This flavor is, of course, no "truer" than any other, and especially not when it comes to individual US citizens.

'Murica the Boorish

A Wretched Hive full of war-mongering, ignorant Jerkasses whose prosperity, when it exists, is the product of their infinite greed. Americans come into your country either as tourists or invaders, always acting like they own the place and letting you know how it "should be" run. Do not dare say that you come from "America" (as in anywhere within the continents discovered by Christopher Columbus and named after Amerigo Vespucci that is not the fifty states) for they will call you a fraud at best. Whenever they talk, it will always be as obnoxiously loud and as offensive as possible, claiming it's "freedom of speech." In the rural areas of the Deep South and The Wild West, you'll find disgustingly obese, Red-baiting, Bible-thumping, gun-toting, bigoted, redneck Moral Guardians who subsist on a diet of synthetic fast food and TV dinners, while in the cities and everywhere else, you'll find crime-ridden ghettoes full of street gangs and cartels desperate to get you addicted to their wares, vapid rich ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ either hailing from or trying to emulate Hollywood California, and Darwinist, Scrooge-like corporate profiteers who view poor people (which happens to be "anybody who does not has at least one billion in their bank account") as a plague upon humanity (not that the poor are any better). Woe betide you if you're a minority, immigrant (though why on Earth you'd ever want to move there is anyone's guess), or both; at best you'll be assimilated into the culture and become one of the above, and at worst you'll be treated as utter vermin by the majority population, the law enforcement, the government itself, and even other immigrants/minorities. And if you're a foreign nation, you'd better hope that your country doesn't have some sort of resource or export the Americans want or need, whether it be gold, oil, or anime; because the minute that they sense any threat to their supply, they'll invade you (if you're lucky) or send money and arms to whoever they want in power (if you're not), almost always some godawful kleptocrat who is submissive to their interests. And when it comes to countries they hate, they are just hoping to get a reason (silliness notwithstanding) to break out the nukes. Their concept of "ecology" is "obstacle to destroy" and/or "thing I lie about caring". Trying to have a conversation and reach a mutual agreement with them is like pulling teeth: they want violence and they will have it, be it with a gun or their fists. And last but not least, they suck at global geography. The Bronze Age of Comic Books and especially The Dark Age of Comic Books frequently began to reflect this flavor, which once again is no "truer" than any other, and especially not when it comes to individual US citizens.

Mixed Flavor

Other works just decide to split the difference, treating America as essentially the Boisterous Bruiser Idiot Hero of nations: rude, crude, clueless, obnoxious, and vaguely psychotic, but still good-natured beneath it all. A famous saying, often misattributed to Winston Churchill, sums up this portrayal well: "You can always count on Americans to do the right thing... after they've first tried everything else."

Real America isn't much different than most places in the wold, you have to work to survive, buying a house will take most of your life to pay for, and politics will play people against each other to maintain the established hierarchy.

when I think america.. I think.. their horrible urban planning... the idiotic car dependend infrastructure.. wihich lead to their recognisable terrible places to live (even tropic islands and canada have this same horrible urban planning that crappifies everything)

it's a list of elements.. but if you see an american city or town it's car dependency and thus crappy place to live is imedieatly clear.

when I think of america, I think of a stuff obessed nation... that is all deep in debt.
they value being together, and having relaxation far to little.. far to material obsessed.
ALL of them.. instead of wanting to ed the explotation the lower classes only dream of becoming the expoloiters..

I also think of terrible working conditions, even while I would not be hit with the worst of it as middleclass phd and earn more there than here..

I think of the idiotic amounts of crime and jail, and how easy it is in usa to end up for life in jail, or be the victem of a crime, yet how nobody sees that that system is not working.. and costly

I think of a society of no second chances and no second places, if you make one mistake ever in life your life is over.. no second changes..

I like to be able to have stolen a piece of candy as a child and not have that influence my life now.. or that one can have messed up onces education and go back to school (cause affordable funded by state) at adult and get your degree and work your way up.
such mobility is pretty much non excistant in usa. there is plenty of possibiolity to drop as child from middleclass parents to jailbird or homeless but pretty much non to get back from that.. or work your way up if your parents already started at the bottom.

I think of a society alergic to walking and is chronicly obese and unhealthy

I think of a society with TERRIBLE diet... not just cause the foodstuff there has aditives that are outlawed here and portions are insanne... but generally your hate vegetables and healthy food even if served it. and whoes idea of home cooking (which they rarely do at all anymore) is toss a factory powder in water or heat up a microwave meal

I think of terrible healthcare system, that both is basicly 50 years behind our own in quality but 30 times the price.. meanwhile the population is mass adicted to very heavy pills that you all buy online without subscription.. pills that here are on doctors recept only and even than only mist severe cases get like 4 of them.. americans are adicted to opiod level painkillers.

but I also think of a very small group of well meaning traditional christians.. often in rural towns, that are some of the most welcoming loving folks on the planet.. that kind of are the exact oppoisite of all the above.. often the remnants of puritans

than there are the hatefull christians, bibiblebashers.. but that tend to be braindead and do all that God forbids and still claim to be christian in the south...

I think of some of the most idiotic woke wankers in the world (the kind that is way worse than what we got here)

I think of trailerparktrash.. and junkies again worse than anything we have here.. entire empoverished towns... and areas

I think of sheltered communities of outrafiously rich aholes who exploit and think thats ok..

I don't feel like defining the 16 nations of america.. but well there are at least 16 very different cultures

one good thing.. you likely can be a bit more free in usa.. if you want to not wear facemask during covid.. or live your own all whites down.. or have your christian sect.. you likely can do that in usa.. more than here in europe

(where already we get arrested for praying near an abortion clinic.. and parents who pray their children get cured from autism.. or pray for gay people to be cured get arested and their children taken from them)

generally while you be worse bad off in usa in standard of living.. they tend to let you be a bit more free.. and not follow you into every remote outcorder... you may be quite unfree in the larger cities and if you want any remoteness of a modern life.. but if you go offgrid you can still be free in usa without anybody infriging on you all the time.
