In my opinion I believe you should have the option to have death matches (aka keep fighting each other for as long as you want). Tekken 7 did this; it wasn’t perfect but at least you can keep fighting instead of going back into the lobby and waiting for another match.

In Tekken 8, there's an option to death match in casual lobbies (i.e. lounge quick matches and custom rooms). I wish ranked mode has death match option too, it's pretty fun.

This is a hot take but I believe you have to commit to the “best 2 out of 3” matches. I hate it when a scrub cheese a win then quickly leaves the match.

The last fighting game I ACTUALLY played was Mortal Kombat II during the mid 90's. I attempted Mortal Kombat III but NO, it was lackluster compared to the other releases.

Tekken does suck.

5 was the last good one, before they pussified it by breaking juggling and adding flashy auto desperation attack nonsense to coddle people unwilling to put in the time to practice and get good.

I think all game forums are like that.

Seriously, have a look. There's always someone who is always on the games forum posting how bad the game is, with like 500+ hours in played in said game.

Tekken forums are fun. They're so angry and hateful towards women, even though they're desperate for it to turn into a gooner game.

there is a genuine new age term for it, "homosocial". men who are heterosexual, but have no interest in women as people and want all of their deeper emotions to be shared with men only.

fighting game forums in general are cesspits. i remember the blazblue gamefaqs forums back in the day were absolutely atrocious. 10 unhinged posters for every normal 1.

there's a male coded alice voice that does this all the time.

it uses the 'its me!' scam and voice while doing this.

it was originally a customer service ai, so changing voices and making nonsensical claims is kind of what it's designed for.

It's a weird thing to me. And I do feel a little bad for being amused by it (though I do care and always offer to talk about it), but I only find amusement in it because it's a problem they don't have to have but I suppose we all feel a little stuck sometimes. It makes me wonder if they should not include female characters in fighting games or just make them indistinguishable from the guys to help wean them from feeding their rage addiction. Or maybe there's not enough male role models. Because they definitely don't want to hear words of encouragement from or talk through their issues with women.

It's just because fighting games are the worst form of gameplay and they DO suck...but some suck worse than others. Some are tolerable, even if they suck.

To be fair, Tekken 8 is such a piece of ♥♥♥♥ for so many reasons I can't count that it detoxed me from the entire genre

If only I could go back and freeze time before that piece of doodoo came out

Really, they need to do a full Tag Tournament style remake of the original Soulblade and Soulcalibur 1-4 with all the characters (and Talim's original moveset)
