probably a lot of dafties who would perish in a zombie outbreak pretty quick, but considering all the scenarios we have seen from a plethora of zombie/infected media, i am thinking more folk would survive the initial outbreaks than we might think. what i would be more worried about are the people, not the zeds. the people will likely become violent very quickly against other uninfected as society began to break down.

I expect the army to have a much greater impact in reality than in movies. Regular zombies still have human teeth, so they couldn’t bite through heavy armor or tanks. In horror films, though, everyone runs around in shorts and T-shirts, making them easy targets.

But if the virus reaches India or Asia, it will likely mutate rapidly into new, faster, and more aggressive forms of zombies, overwhelming the world with a wave of epidemics.

I have no faith. The anti-maskers would let themselves get bitten because they wouldn't believe you turn when you get bitten and may even want to try and prove the point. Its been well proven that masks reduce transmissible of viruses since the time of the Spanish Flu and they didn't even have the N95 ones yet. Those masks were made of gauze or cheesecloth. Plus even if it is a hoax, which I don't believe, then why take the chance? A simple cloth mask covering your orifices ain't going to kill, you but a virus might. The risk assessment absolutely favors wearing a mask of some variety, but people still cried and screamed over a perfectly reasonable request.

The threat of the zombie virus is in large part that of a snowball effect. A few zombies aren't especially dangerous by themselves, but once a few of zombies turns into many the looming threat is constent. Even though they are slow and lumbering, you have to sleep. I dunno about you but I've never heard of a sleeping zombie, and even if they do need to sleep once there are so many zombies that there are probably roving hordes that are awake 24/7.

It is not that the public as a whole needs to be stupid, or really that any have to be stupid in an absolute sense. You only need enough sufficiently foolish members of the public to get themselves infected that it poses a problem for the survivors, and I absolutely believe that such a critical mass can be reached with society as it stands.

Definitely a 9+. The decline in intelligence I have seen is insane and it's going fast and it is really ironic that people are not even aware they are playing a part in it lol.
