Heroes journey anime recommendations?
Anyone has any recommendations for me? Im looking for animes that shows the main character going through a journey, overcoming things, growing, making friends to accompany them etc. It doesnt have to be action packed all the time and it doesnt have to be happy go lucky or whatever.

Iv recently watched:the weakest tamer, fieren, jobless reincarnation(really liked the solo arc), reincarnated as slime/spider(dont really care for the skill system stuff, it can get cringe sometimes), solo leveling.

For some older titles, fairy tail, fullmetal alchemist, og trigun, gun x sword, cant think of many more of what Im looking for.

Thanks for the recommendations in advance.

Accel world
Samurai Champloo
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
Dragon Ball, Hunter x Hunter
Not an anime, but Avatar - The Last Airbender is a great (initially reluctant)hero's journey story where an ensemble of friends and allies forms around the main character as the series progresses and they all make mistakes and learn from them and grow and all that good stuff. Great story and great characters.

Shield Hero
Tokyo Revengers
Naruto
Great Teacher Onizuka
Mobile Suit Gundam (the original)
Sentai Daishikaku
Fruit of Evolution (Stop after the first season. Second season is just... ???)
Bogus Skill "Fruitmaster"
RE: Zero (I didn't like it, but many do. Be warned on dark themes and blood.)

Your criteria narrows it down. I'm having to think hard. Um...

Consider the following in the "maybe" category:
Yu-Yu-Hakusho
Sailor Moon
Dragonball
Slayers
Delicious In Dungeon (The characters don't really grow much. But it's entertaining.)

A young boy soon discover the power of friendship and love then proceed to slay the ever-living ♥♥♥♥ out of the bad guys.

Type that on google. Should give some results given that it's the plot of half animes out there.

for my daughter I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord
Ascendance of a Bookworm
Ancient Magus Bride.

although the last two might not qualify as a journey, since their location are somewhat static.
berserk follows some steps of the traditional "heroes journey", but it is not exactly triumphant and glorious most of the time in tone.

That's the opposite of the "hero's journey". In fact, it's kinda a parody of the theme.

Mashle starts strong. Stays strong. Learns nothing. Never advances.
