New Mazda sports car a possibility?
I've read some articles about Mazda potentially building the new RX model with a rotary engine soon, as soon as 2026. With Rx-7 being near impossible to afford anymore and them being older than most people on Steam , this seems like a too good to be true scenario for car enthusiasts, plus they are making it a hybrid, apparently. Thoughts?

Not sure why this got a Jester, but thanks for one more for my colleciton of Jesters lol.

sounds good, but a rotary engine is very needy had a RX8 and god that thing costs a fortune in maintenance and gas

True, plus by design it burns oil , so there's that extra maintenance cost as well, but I really wants to see this iconic car to make a comeback in some way
One of my many cars is a 1983 Mazda RX-7 (Series 2) which I inherited but I hate that thing because it is too small and I feel it is very unsafe in a collision as opposed to my 1979 Corvette Stingray which is slick on wet roads. :badluck:

This is an issue with most sports cars. They're really not comfortable at all. Not good in a collision, pretty easy to ♥♥♥♥ up if road conditions aren't perfect too.
Cars suck. They're weapons of mass destruction. Stop being lazy and just walk.

Yeah, for these cars some sacrifices have to be made... My BRZ sounds like a literal lawnmover on highway and rattles like a tin can, but I love how raw it feels and operates. I guess, it depends on the person and what their tolerances are.

Welcome to America, where any place of interest is 10+ miles away :laughing_yeti:
I love Mazda.
I also loved the PT Cruiser.
I HATE the CyberTruck though.

And I of course love Lamburghini.

I hate driving though.

My Brain can't handle it , but I can bike just fine. I am an avid E-biker and can handle the roads just fine on my bike, but once I get behind the wheel of a car, it's like a switch in my brain goes off and I just lose control.

Elon is the master of car engineering, he literally had the 'Cybertruck" exterior stainless steel paneling GLUED onto the trucks.:badluck:
Mazda unveiled a prototype. There is speculation that it could be the next generation MX-5 or a new RX-9. If it's an RX, it will likely be a rotary-hybrid.

It you ever want to sell it, drop me a line here.

Eh. It still won't top the RX-7.

The beginning of the 21st century was the end of an era. R.I.P. the RX-7, the NSX-R, the A80 Supra, and the R34 GT-R.

Cars aren't about the driver experience anymore.

They just don't make 'em like they used to.

I still want to dream that it's possible to go back to those days, but you're probably right. Yeah, cars are like computers on wheels now, way too comfortable, quiet and this new fad of having screens the size of a TV.
Better put a tariff on it, just to be safe.
No chance, rotary can't be fixed, let alone to meet emissions and mpg standards now.

Mazda is weird, their sales have been about the same since at least 2006.

To be fair a good number are already made here so it wouldn't be the issue.
