Like it honestly depends on what you're doing. You're not gonna die riding your bike around the neighborhood cruising and a lot of mountain bike trails i think force people to wear helmets anyway. I got a concussion once hitting a street pothole and that only happened cuz i was blazing down the street. It really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hurt and my friends thought i died but i'm ok now. Snowboarding i definitely wear a helmet.

Australia is a very authoritarian anti-drug country. They're not as disgusting as Singapore (executing Heroin dealers) but they're pretty strict. I'm not surprised they force you to wear helmets.

Then again we're forced to wear seatbelts in Canada and I don't have a problem with that.

edit: I always wear my helmet when I ride my bike. I see grown ass men all the time not wearing helmets on their skateboard/bicycle and it is actually idiotic.
