Linux is simply better than Windows for gaming

Lol, Windows can't play all the games.

Every release Windows loses compatibility with titles, not to mention Windows straight up plays worse.

Windows 10 doesn't support 16bit programs so thats out the Window. Windows 10 also can't play games with legacy DRM such as SecuRom. Even games from the Windows 8 era and before have MASSIVE issues. Borderlands 1/2 on WIndows can straight up crash playing on higher resolutions due to not being able to address enough memory. Borderlands 2 also gains 200%+ performance playing on Linux.

Not to mention games like F.E.A.R. and GTA4 on Linux don't need the fixes they do on Windows.

Not to mention games like R6 Vegas 1/2, CoD 2, MW1/2 SCBW the classic Blizzard games, and many more have severe crashing and other issues on Windows but not Linux.

KF2's famous black screen freeze is something I've never had on Linux, the alt tab issue the MCC has on WIndows doesn't exist on Linux. The list goes on.

The real irony is as time goes on Linux will end up with more Windows game compatibility than Windows does.

I saw this post today and laughed because yeah, I just played GTA 4 yesterday on my Linux PC and didn't have to do any troubleshooting to play the game like the people running Windows spyware have to do to run the game. And they tell me they run Windows corporate spyware OS because it supposedly involves less troubleshooting to run games lol

Btw I get better performance in games because I run Linux too lol

Funny to think there are cases where Linux is actually easier to use than Windows and even has better game compatibility

thats cool bro
Erm. As much of a Linux shill as I am. There is still some kinks to iron out before crowning Linux king.

I've pretty much put the prospect of ever again using a Windows OS behind me. That is except for business purposes.

Native Linux games are better on Linux..
Well if you like to do more than just game and use many different modding, data integrity, security, preservation utilities and other tools. Linux is overrated.
You can't be having that much fun OP, hence why you're on here complaining about windows.

They have been doing it ever since the steam deck came out. But their DRM is also awful and I wouldnt feel comfortable using their OS if they are going to go into it with the same anti consumer nonsense as they have been for a while now.

Could you elaborate on that anti consumer nonsense?

idk what you're talking about... Steam is probably the most consumer-friendly gaming company there is other than (maybe) GoG.

Steam can no longer stay in offline mode indefinitely. Its now either 2 weeks or 2 months not entirely sure. Before you're forced to connect to their servers to use the launcher. Its DRM nonsense. And it wasn't always like that either. Gabe even had that quote where he said piracy is a service problem. Its crazy how the mighty have fallen.

It was. And yeah GOG is amazing. Wish they had more games.
