Xbox players in the UK will still have to upload their passport or government issues ID to use social features.

Will this new age verification cube to Steam and will you comply to use the forums?

Using a credit card for a purchase is perfectly sufficient to prove I am over 18. I am not going to send them a photo of my ID that is stored on some unencrypted insecure server with the password "password123"

goodbye any online for microsoft across the board. Probably will appl to minecraft as well soon which means minecraft might as well be shut down in any country that does this

You can play minecraft in single player, I do almost exclusively.

Also.... minecraft is very mod-able and theres ways to play old versions of it with different launchers.

It still sucks that they're implementing this but is anything of value being lost with this sudden wall?

Valve in 2018 claimed they won't cave to activists and payment processors.
Today they do instantly.
They also told germany to ♥♥♥♥ off with age verification around the same time, will they tell the UK the same? Yeah...
