It depend, I've seen some peoples quit smoking, lose weight or things like that for their partner. But it depend on a lot of criterias that aren't easy to summarise. I'll say the first ingredient you need is the other to care enough about you to be motivated to do so. It's also easier if there is no addiction / mental health problems involved, as those can sometimes be stronger than your will.

So, yes it's possible, but don't count on it too much. It can happen or not and that's not easy to guess correctly if it will.
