Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) in the United States (US) rose by 73,000 in July, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported on Friday. This reading followed the 14,000 increase (revised from 147,000) recorded in June and came in worse than the market expectation of 110,000

This is what I'm dubbing 'The Quiet Automation'

The job market has been estimating WAY HIGHER than what's being delivered, their revisions hacking off 86.8% in May, and 90.5% in June of what was originally estimated, and I'm attributing this to mass automation

You’re not wrong, helping clients of mine develop their AI that would let me replace my assistants with AI
It will be fine

What do you use to develop your AI apps, if you don’t mind me asking? Public API’s of one of the big chatbots? (ChatGPT, Claude, etc)

You should also not tell people that if you're not going to contribute

Businesses are laying people off because they can't afford to hire.

Just not true

They were laying people off -- why do you think? Their need for those workers didn't disappear; they were actively being replaced

Pretty much what every SWE is doing right now. It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad

Just in case people think I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on AI or automation: No, but I am ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the collective governments who aren't doing anything to actually take care of the people being affected

It's the transitionary period between now and then which is what worries me, not that this is a cataclysmic event

One is from YouTube, the other from https://www.fxstreet.com, and everything else is from https://www.bls.gov

It's three sites, and it's not my fault that you're paranoid about clicking on YT links and .gov links

Because they can't afford to hire them

Are you hearing yourself? "They were firing people because they couldn't hire new people"

That's illogical. If they couldn't hire new people, they'd just not hire new people; they wouldn't have to fire anyone. They're firing people because a cheaper means of labour is being produced, and it's more cost-effective to replace those workers. Those people were fired because they were replaced, not because of some backwards math

I have a feeling you'd be more receptive to hearing about this if it wasn't happening under Trump
Too bad I'm not a Trump supporter you dunce.

I just don't like you, and your poetry sucks. You're untalented.

lmao rent free

What? Don't you understand a simple concept of money? When you can't afford to hire your employees, you have to fire them. I'm wasting my time talking to you because you don't understand even the most simple and basic concepts that go back to the very beginning of humanity.

You're pretending you're right but aren't; you oversimplified and are angry (for some reason) that automation explains it better than "No murr hiring!"
