Id checks
if a website say youtube or whatever asks you for Id, will you stop using it ? i notice a lot of anger about this lately but i have noticed that people rage and do nothing about it because they can't break their addiction and the companies know this.

so are you willing to stop using services or do you not care ?

Only at the weekends.
Australia already does this but it's just a phone number or credit card details. It's fine in my opinion but people freak out overseas.
I've decided if a website asks me for an ID check, I'll either stop using that website\service or the part of the service where ID is required, Using a workaround really just says to governments that this kind of overreach is acceptable.

I don't necessarily have an issue with keeping children safe but there needs to be a way to verify age without needing to send personally identifiable information to 3rd parties.

I don't have a youtube account and never will. I will rip music from youtube as long as I can and when I can't anymore I'll stop using youtube completely. I don't want 10,000 different accounts and if they want people to stop pirating music then they should make it easier to buy it like bandcamp does. If I have to do more than swipe my credit card to gain mp3s then I'm not bothering with that garbage. If they put DRM in the mp3s I'm 100% not buying them. Either sell me what I want and make it easy or I'm out.

They make everything so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over complicated for no reason.
No questions asked I'll stop using it immediately

If the leaders of the world think they have people addicted to youtube enough to fork over ID, maybe they do

I won't

I'm not for sale :)
Would be too much hassle, wouldn't be worth the effort. It could cause hacking to increase, it could lead to a revolt. That might happen, the next civil conflict might be over cyberspace via cyberspace.
Some, I guess. I'd keep using Steam and probably Google/YT.

Yes, I will stop using any site that asks me to give them an ID. My government needs to come up with a government program or a professional third party needs to step in that is going to handle that information with sensitivity and have some responsibility if things aren't handled that way.

I also think there is an opportunity for self regulation by using your OS to empower families in doing it themselves.

I will never give my ID to a single website.

Except maybe Steam since a lot of my hobby involves Steam.

If I were in need of more money and had the skills, that'd be a great business to start up. Microsoft might even buy you out.

Youtube was a cute fad when it was new but it became flooded with pointless social media, people posting the MOST TRIVIAL NONSENSE via amateur webcam videos.
