also objectively not a good video game in many respects, but it is one of my favourite games of all time for its story, characters, atmosphere, music, and loving homages to twin peaks.
its a great experience. the gameplay is where it is generally considered bad, as it is dull and clunky with awkward shooting and driving mechanics. but the story/characters are so good and the gameplay so extremely simple (you will very likely never get a game over) that the gameplay can mostly be ignored so you can just enjoy the rest.
"Game Grumps" and they played a really bad game that was meant to be bad called "Bad Ben". I could never play the game but their interaction with most bad games is worth a watch.
Everything I've ever seen of Deadly Premonition's gameplay; it reminds me of Shenmue.
the gameplay is not super similar to shenmue, but like shenmue it is a very similar experience in that you are mostly disregarding the crappy gameplay to enjoy the fun story.
Bland, repetitive, boring, but also a bit fun if you're into mindlessly shooting things or weak rpgs.
