Why are ads so controversial these days?
Seems like you can't even have an American Eagle ad without stirring controversy and causing outrage, even when your goal is simply to use sex appeal to sell a product. Like, "sex sells" honestly shouldn't be this difficult or "clever marketing campaign". It's most of the time something as simple as a Carl Jr's ad showing a hot model eating a cheeseburger.

Plain, simple, and straight to the point. No one's gonna complain, cause they got to see tits, ass, and a juicy burger. When you consider most ads are meant to appeal to an American mindset, then it should be even easier when you break down the simple American consumer thought process with "show tits or ass and the people will come". NOTHING else ever even needs to be said.

If your hot, heterosexual, white, republican they got a problem with it.
The notion of sex selling is interesting.

It also used to be true. Used to be.

In ads, people used to look a **** better. I don't like the model look personally(to each their own)- and even they looked better not that long ago.

No, they won't let people on the screen anymore if they are good looking.

Blehhh.

No, NO ONE has a problem with the person in the ad. It's what American Eagle decided to add after the fact. Most of the time, the models used only talk about things related to the product in question, and NOTHING ELSE. And for a good reason. You want to keep people's eye on the ball. If they remember you more for the controversy than the product, then they ain't gonna buy the product. They could have used a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ orangutan with lipstick for all I give a ♥♥♥♥.
BTW- this ad that everyone is talking about: I have yet to see it.

I wonder if it's worth the hubbub.
Haven't seen it but it can't be worse than AI slop ads that have been appearing, most of which I'm sure are illegal.
I wouldn't be surprised if the 'controversy' was planned and seeded by American Eagle

They're not. Internet outrage isn't real because the internet isn't real life. Nobody actually cares. Go talk to someone IRL about this; I'm sure they'll tell you all about how they don't give a ♥♥♥♥.

I kinda believe you guys. So much is just put out there to get people stirred up.

For all kinds of things, the product/service may not be all that- and they gotta find ways of getting attention.

So, should I ever see the thing, I probably will roll my eyes at it.

The CURRENT version is. They removed the more controversial one. And once again, NO ONE had an issue with Sydney herself. Attractive actresses are nothing new, and quite frankly, people gotta stop acting like somehow she's anymore special than any other hot actress or model that people would give a ♥♥♥♥ about the particular model being used.

Humans are a natural creation on Earth and others try to manufacture reality around them to control and gain from them like a farm.

Now you keep following your programming but your innermost self which is for the most part quiet is crying out for freedom and serenity.

To gain freedom and serenity, requires work.

It is because complacency and always taking from those who give us yes even paid has created an uneven and unmanageable power dynamic where the creators and hard workers think they are meant to do it, and you guys are always asking them to do things for you.

A lot of people are scared of hard work or self reflection.

So you accepted your slave - master dynamic inherently.

NO ONE has a problem with her, lol yea right give me a break. People are now attacking her just because she's republican.

Those people wouldn't have given a ♥♥♥♥ about the ad anyway. Like I said, any issues with Sydney would have been irrelevant to the ad. AE just wasn't exactly helping their case when they decided to add to the controversy. If it's just an ad with Sydney in jeans and nothing more, most people would have been happy to move along, regardless of their personal feelings about Sydney. She had also sold bathwater soap with bathwater personally from her own bath. That might have been "creepy" or "weird" enough to put people off of her, even if you discount her politics for a second. Like I said, she AIN'T special.
