Just add credit; it's really not a big deal. If you don't want to, then just make an AI recreation, or apply the same standard of that behaviour consistently. What you did was basically like this:
>someone is making and selling origami
>you buy, or otherwise acquire some origami from that person
>another person asks where you got the origami, likely because they'd like some too
>you don't provide them details, or worse, you say you made it yourself
Personally, I think it's largely the artist's fault for not watermarking their stuff; if they're going to post their works online for free, they should expect that it'll be freely used -- however, asking for credit isn't unreasonable, and should just be a common-courtesy you don't get upset over
