A study released from UCLA has revealed that each gram of chewing gum can contain up to 600 microplastics, which is released in the mouth upon chewing.

A single piece of chewing gum weighs around 2 to 6 grams, so that's 3000 microplastics in total.

A human ingests around 39,000 to 52,000 microplastic particles per year.

Most of which comes from seafood, as sea creatures consume way more in the ocean.

However, how much chewing gum do you chew regularly?

You got 12 pieces of gum or so in a pack and might chew 2 at a time?

You could easily double your average microplastic (per year) in a matter of days/weeks?

Mmm plastic!

Yeah. It fits well with my asbestos filled walls, leaded paint, flouride and chlorinated drinking water, processed meats, increasingly stron UV rays and aluminium metal dust filled rain clouds.

It's amusing to me, not scary or oh noes, we shouldn't be chewing gum anymore.
