Based on my game time on Steam only. The original Killing Floor.
A co-op game with different perks (classes) that require a lot of teamwork, even more so on the higher difficulties. Players that can't control their trigger finger can get a whole team wiped quickly.
A very close second is L4D2 for the same reason.
i tried really hard to love KF2 as much as 1, and i think i gave it a fair shot because i sunk a few hundreds hours into it. but it just did not have the charm of KF1 to me. i loved the darker aesthetics and goofier voicelines of KF1, and more importantly i loved how heavy and slow everything felt in KF1. KF2 is still slow, but it feels very fast paced compared to 1. the movement feels "floaty", whereas in KF1 it felt like you moved with sand in your boots. which sounds bad, but i loved how it felt.
Chess.
Simple 8x8 board with 16 pieces a side and yet it can be so complex as some of the newest fancy games out there.
