So too can the suffering only coming from yourself, rather than others. This personal branding can be traded on, in almost any context. It is extremely difficult to question this advantage, and indeed it is the nightmare of the battlefield soldiers to encounter such a personage.
hwat about a smaller hammer, like a tac hammer?
or does it need to be a larger one?
Pain is the prerequisite for change.
Without pain you would never change anything.
If you cut your finger and it hurts next time you will be more careful cutting.
If you have back problems then the pain will make you change how often you sit on a PC, how you sit, how long you sit and so on.
If you lover leaves you then you will feel pain and may think about why.
Think about if you would even notice anything if there were no pain?
Pain is just an effective feedback mechanism. It tells you to improve something about you.
This is about suffering, not specific to pain. Yes pain is a necessary thing.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Du%E1%B8%A5kha is often translated as "suffering," though many people say "stress" or "stressors" would be more accurate.
well it made sense when I did it; sort of.
same as yourself I assume.
as you may know I went through a series of hammers of various weights and compositions, eventually settling on the one nearest by.
There is no suffering without pain. Suffering is just a consequence of the pain.
It depends what type of suffering you're talking about, financial suffering as an example, makes you better with money in the long run as you appreciate what you might not have or struggle to keep hold of.
I think 'certain' suffering makes you a better person, in the long-term.
