Have you tried eating bread that's rock hard (difficult to slice) on its own?
What I mean is the type of bread that is rock solid (or that's how I would describe ones that are difficult to break apart even by slicing or ripping by hand without effort, it will chip a tooth upon biting that itself), usually those types of breads are intended to be dunked in soups or stews which softens that making it edible without breaking your teeth or adding strain to one's jaw.

You can't have sugar can you?

Finns and Swedes love this type of bread, so yes, numerous times
Stale bread is best crushed into crumbs and used for meatballs or thickening soup.

Or rolling a fish fillet or meat cutlet in before frying.

Never tried it, any bread that is stale goes out for the birds.
I only tried hardtack once. It’s basically like eating a bread that is very very hard with no flavor. They told me to make it more palatable soak it in water then eat it. If you’re lucky and they have soup, dip it in the soup. Thank god I’m not a sailor in the 1600s.

Try a sourdough rye hybrid. It's naturally harder than normal bread but taste great
That is what water is for dip hard bread in it to make it soft again.

I once heard a french person laughing because americans throw away their old bread.

They use theirs for croutons or whatever, but they have no idea how shirty american bread is. Its mostly sugar, borderline cake really(the white bread that kids love to eat).

Yes. As long it has no mold or mildew green spots on it...... it was actually pretty good.
I ate my boyfriend's rock hard sausage. It was juicy too, and he enjoyed every second of it.

Pass, I only eat wholemeal bread, I usually give it a sniff before I eat it just to make sure it smells OK, if it smells funny I always put it in the fridge for the birds the next day.

I used to make my own bread, that is amazing, the smell of freshly baked bread :steamhappy:

Aha, interesting
When I worked at a supermarket chain, our store used to throw roughly 2-3 bin liners (gArbage baygs) of bread away at the end of every day. One staff member asked if he could take it home, or take it to his Mosque and they told him no, you have to throw it in the bin (dampster).

Someone must have looked at the security cameras and saw that homeless people were coming in at night and taking the sacks of bread out of the rubbish (gArbage), so they told us to start tearing the bags open and pouring bleach on the bread.
