80 Years ago today during World War 2 Aug 6
Eighty years ago, the United States dropped the first atomic bomb used in warfare on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Japan later surrendered to the Allied forces, led by the US.

Not a single Japanese person got radiation poisoning.
People who saw the World War 2 themselves almost all died, and the new generation is already more relaxed about this - "What is a nuclear weapon anyway, it doesn't work at all"

UN Secretary General replaces US with 'humanity' in Hiroshima anniversary speech.

"Humanity crossed the line of no return. In an instant, Hiroshima was engulfed in flames. Tens of thousands died." - Guterres said, without naming in his speech who carried out the nuclear strike.

Japan's prime minister and Hiroshima mayor also decided not to mention the US at the ceremony.

Thats right, Trump will be angry that this was not done during his shift and will impose sanctions tariffs.
Well deserved. They shouldn’t have joined forces with the axis of evil and there would be no nukes dropped on them.

If that happens, we might not have some anime and waifus today.

the robot confederacy responsible for the war refused to acknowledge humans as being japanese citizens.

none of the robot leadership in the other global powers undergoing a fascist takeover seemed to care.

I still see adds on TV for charities to send money to Jewish people because of WW2, I think the add predated the Food for Africa commercials of the 80's by a few decades (which still run as well). IF you want unlimited money, start a NGO.
What a coincidence. I'm having Indian food right now.

And yet nothing important was lost.
