I deleted all launchers except for Steam.
Deleted Epic. Epic is bad. The only games they offer are Rocket League which they stole from steam, Fortnite, and a million gacha slop games.

Deleted GOG - Never bought games on there anyway and all the games on there are on Steam.

Deleted Xbox - Outside of Halo (which is effectively a dead franchise) there's no point in using this launcher. Game Pass and subscription services are the scourge of the earth because they invite FOMO into it.

Deleted EA - Need I say more? Potentially the worst one on this list. Copy and pasting Battlefield every few years, and occasionally they may release an actual unique game once in a blue moon. Also has scummy EA Play which is another stupid subscription service. Other than that, they have Apex? All these Battle royales are steadily "ruined" anyway because that's what live service games do. Ruin themselves for more and more profit.

Deleted Ubisoft - Same as EA honestly. They actually kind of made Assassin's Creed a bit unique in recent years, but if you've played a couple of em you've played em all. Same with Far Cry. Bloated launcher and also has Ubisoft Premium which is another subscription service. This is the only way to play Rainbow Six Siege if for some reason you wanted to play that bloated mess.

Battle. Net - This is a bad launcher too for many reasons. You have WoW still using that pesky subscription model. $15 a month FOREVER when I can go play literal free to play games that are better? Hm. Don't forget that they have $100 mounts in it too! Most of the other stuff is freemium crap like Hearthstone and Diablo Immortal. Heck, even OW2 is freemium. They downgraded OW1 and made it to where people who actually bought the game can only earn skins through their dumb battle pass. The cherry on top is how they are charging about $50 for Diablo 4 + DLC? Do you know why nobody wants to play D4? Because you have Path of Exile which is completely free and much better. Sure you can play Diablo 3 or Diablo 2, but you're likely going to play Diablo 2. Hint, you don't need the launcher to do it. Other than that you have just have Call of Duty slop. Need I say more?

Now I'm not saying there are no good games on these platforms. I'm just saying there are ways to get around these bloated launchers. Outside of GOG I don't think any of them are good.

And don't even get me started on launchers like the Riot Client that install a kernel level anti cheat just for free to play games. It really does feel like it can be hard to win, huh? The solution from most people would be to not care, but I personally think most of this is worth caring about.
