How would you reduce US population by 15% in 1 year?

Solar Flare, climate change driven droughts, automation based unemployment.

YOU have been given the job to reduce population by 15%, 50 million in 1 year.

The goal is achieving that with minimal impact to capital and infrastructure.

Whats your plan?

this year the 35% of people who answer the census reported a 15% reduction in total population.

Accelerate the on-going mouse utopia experiment 2.0 into the next phase. Albeit cities won't be the same, but robots would be able to speed up the cleanup process & repair the collateral damage.
