Gaming laptops have to be a cosmic joke
I literally can't even run Halo Infinite, for example.

Specs

CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 185H (2.50 GHz)

32gb of some kind of DDR5 ram

GPU: rtx 4090 mobile 16gb vram

I've had this laptop for a year and my theory is that the hardware has literally just gotten worse due to the heat that laptops undergo. Most games have microstutters even though all of my drivers are up to date and I have the laptop ventilating.

Cosmic joke.

Same. I would never buy a laptop for gaming. A gaming PC must be a regular computer that is a desktop setup. Laptops are not practical for gaming.
I have a spare gaming laptop for emergencies but thats about it, I used it til I fixed my desktop and now it just sits.
If it's marketed as a "gaming laptop" and it's under $1200 USD, it definitely isn't worth it.

Laptops can be just fine for gaming, but you have to pay a premium for the luxury.

Laptops are doable, but they are grossly mismarketed, particularly the GPU. What would a mobile 4090 actually be in regular specs, what ever it is, it is no where near a proper 4090. Part of me wishes they made fatter laptops, so that they can have proper cooling and better components.

you would have done a lot better with a handheld like the steamdeck or rog ally x
Depends what you play. For the most demanding games, I don't see the point of using a laptop unless you really have a genuine need for portability.

Mine is even worse: It is sadly capable of running Halo: Finite.
What sort of storage drive does it have?
That’s just a you problem. I can run Helldivers 2 at about 60 fps with specs worse than yours.

The way the Framework 16 mounts the GPU module on the back keeps things pretty cool, despite it being thinner than it needs to be.

Buy a mini-pc. Cheaper and better than laptop.
13700h, 4060 laptop I'm ok with performance. Had some micro stutters on occasion with dragons dogma 2 but so did PCs with 4090s so I have around $3000 more for other things.
