I honestly think his work on Lion King is certainly up there. Unfortunately when people think of music from that film, they immediately think of “Hukana Mutata” and not the film score.

oh aye you are right, i just checked. the composer for curse of the black pearl was klaus badelt. i guess i just figured it was him on all the films

Well it doesn't help, that Hans Zimmer essentially said to Klaus Badelt: "I don't have time for that movie. Just imagine you were me and compose in my style."

The main theme is a a banger, though, regardless who composed it.
