Why is that couples/friends are toxic players?
Example in an average class shooter. One of them picks healing class, another picks attack class. The whole game they just support each other only. They don't heal teammates, they ignore calls for medic. Some of them outright are being toxic instead of ignoring others.

Another example of a deathmatch game where everyone is vs everyone. Guess what? They start teaming against other players together turning this into a one-sided TDM match.

And another example would be in TDM where they straight up grief. While being on opposite teams they team against everyone else.

And if you dare to call this behavior out you will be instantly labeled an "incel" and other terms.

And to be entirely honest, one can observe such entitled behavior from them in real life too. I think they should be put in their place so they know how to behave.

People don't usually have the confidence to flout social norms on their own. But being with friends and loved ones lends us courage, sometimes in the worst ways.

Because in the end of it all, we're just bullies hiding behind friendly personas.
Made a joke in front of a guy and his wife in Phas, and he screamed (yes, SCREAMED) "THAT'S MY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WIFE!!!"
And I told him to shove off, she's gonna be mine, too.
I never felt more smug after being kicked. Some guys need to get a clue and grow a pair.

LMFAO. strong behaviour friend. i am not sure why but peoples raging in video games is hilarious to me, and it always has been. like playing league or dbd or overwatch and such throughout the years, if anyone on my team raged i never got upset by it, it was funny to me. something about raging in a video game specifically is amusing to me and i am not sure why.

like when i played overwatch, if someone started screaming and hurling insults over the mic i would just pop a lung laughing.

You can't control the other people in the lobby or how they play.
What you can control is how you treat your friends / lovers.

When the lobby closes you still have to talk to one of these groups.
Guess which one you are going to support ?

So someone playing soccer and getting a physical injury, breaking leg is better than playing for example Roblox?

A lot do it so they can't be kicked from the server, the friend will always vote no, irritating if they're griefing. I find it's better to leave the server.

Across games, the reasons will vary from person to person, duo to duo. They're definitely not all like that, and the ones that are don't all have selfish reasons. In my experience it's most commonly boiled down to the capabilities of the players rather than anything negative or selfish. But yeah I've seen some selfish ones from time to time too who are also griefing in some way.

I've seen plenty of solo players exhibit the same behavior too. So at the very least, some of what you're attributing to couples/duos is likely a spurious correlation. At least some of these people stastistically, would behave in the same selfish manner solo as when playing with a friend for example. Though specific gameplay examples might vary, but could be similar such as instead of wanting their friend to heal only themselves; when their friend isn't there, they'd still try to hog the player who is the healer.

Personally, when I played TF2 Medic for example, I always tried to heal as much as I could for the whole team. But there were priorities such as saving someone from death when it made sense, focusing on those attempting to push/destroy encampment defense turrets. In MMO's and also in Dota2, I've had random team/party members get mad thinking I forgot to buff them, simply because I was going through a list of targets the game assigned to number controls, and they happened to be last or second to last; and these were situations where it didn't matter what order I buffed who other than for my own keeping track of timers for when the buffs would need renewed. So, some people are just morons.

Sometimes you can speak up and it helps, other times not. Life.
focus on your game and annoy them, stay soft spoken and never match their agression, ask silly questions, make useless remarks, they'll start liking you or make themselves look pathetic infront of their friends
they are clones of the same lunchbox and don't actually know what an 'other' is?
