Leadership based on intelligence
Should political leadership be based on intelligence like an IQ threshold or MENSA-level meritocracy?

For example, Thomas Jefferson is ranked as one of the top US presidents and he had an IQ of 150.

The problem with leadership is corruption. Clever people are just as likely to be corrupt as dumb people.

I think intelligence is one of the most important traits for a leader, but definitely not the only one. What do you want to achieve, how do you plan on achieving it, do you have practical experience in lesser positions, what are your moral and ideological values...all of these are at least as important as IQ.

Plenty of intellectually brilliant people in the last century have still led their country to ruin.

Boy ho boy. You aware that IQ and all is based on silly questions like "how fast can you identify this pattern of playing cards" ?

One can train to be good at IQ questions. Doesnt mean his brain matter is of quality.

Even worse : just look at the Nobel prize winners : some spew harebrained conspiracy theories. That event even has a nickname for that specific case.
a leader is as good as the people he has to rely on to get ♥♥♥♥ done.

intelligence + heart
then my meathead of a crook president would have to resign immediately, because he was a footballer his whole life and had only very limited education.

No, listening to what politicians say is an extremely low IQ move.
Have you followed her career?

the best option seem charisma guy+intelligence advisor

Sad, he can barely form a sentence
No, society does not respect or appreciate intelligence. They go out of their way to remove the intelligent. They certainly have no place in politics.
