Safe? It's a forum, if you can't handle few words on the internet then natural selection will come for you sooner that expected.

Also the rainbow mafia love to mass report anything they don't like, forcing an echo chamber that would fit their description of a "safe place".

It always has been.

Many games have a welcoming environment for LGBT, contrary to what some may say.

The latest bans made it overall less pervert-friendly, and this moral outrage will pass once more people grasp what just happened, and how it is all about money, as usual.
steam overall is, yeah.

these forums...sometimes. sometimes not.

Places like Gamefaqs and Reddit are much worse (personal) echo chambers since they have 2 way blocking.

The mods there are also biased. If you disagree with their activism, expect to get banned, not that accounts there are worth much. After all, users need to periodically dump their accounts to reset enemy blocks to refresh their browsing experience. That makes Reddit and Gamefaqs accounts highly disposable and the carrot to follow the rules isn't there when you need to eventually dump the account because of blocks.

two way blocking should be a basic internet human right

Personal echo chambers don't belong on public forums. Giving regular users mod power with no accountability will result in abuse. Besides, all it accomplishes is frustrating the user experience. Guests are immune to the censoring whims of snowflakes so it is easily bypassed.

It also heavily devalues accounts. Also it is a poor design to allow Guests potentially more read access than those who take an effort to make an account. The devaluation of accounts also creates a perverse incentive to go throwaway. Once someone decides to embrace the burn, the incentive to follow the rules also flies out the window. There is simply no point when the the account is highly disposable.

In the end, there are too many unintended consequences and the negatives outweigh the positives.
this forum is definitely safe for the noodle-armed rainbow gang
if they can play the game in peace, then yes.

if you block someone they shouldn't be able to read you, follow you around and interact with you

And gamefaqs happens to be a long declining site.

I've basically seen myself out since I refuse to use alts.
Let me say this way steam doesnt care who you love or dont love or what you identify as its a bussnies not a friend nor family its completly neutral as long all behave and dont spread crap on others becuse they arent like you. Freedom of speech is not freedom of consuquence when you incite others to violence freedom isnt responsebility free either and in the end of the day why should it matter

"safe"

You're talking like you might be in danger by talking in the forums...

Yes it's "safe" but you're not going to get a circle jerking echo chamber. We all have wide ranging views and we like to express them.

Given how things are going in the internet so far, "human rights" might be an obsolete idea. :steamfacepalm:
